Volleyball: Kantersieg nach Hinspielniederlage

Eine der drei Saisonniederlagen kassierten die Volleyballdamen von Askö Steg Anfang November 2015 auswärts gegen VC Tirol (2:3). Im „Rückspiel“ auf heimischem Parkett nahmen die Linzerinnen gelungene Revanche und gewannen klar in drei Sätzen.
Im 15. Match der laufenden Bundesligameisterschaft feierte die Truppe von Jirka Siller erst den vierten 3:0-Sieg. Zuvor gelang das nur zwei Mal gegen Tabellenschlusslicht Melk sowie in Graz. „Basis unseres Erfolges war die gute Trainingsarbeit während der Woche. Mich verwundert nicht, dass es so gut lief“, rechnete der tschechische Cheftrainer mit einer starken Vorstellung „seiner“ Ladies, die nach Verlustpunkten bei einem Spiel weniger gleichauf mit Tabellenführer und Serienmeister SVS Post liegen.
Neue wird noch oft helfen
Ihren Einstand bei Askö Linz-Steg feierte Neuerwerbung Savannah Blinn. Die 22-Jährige punktete zwar, Siller gönnt der US-Amerikanerin aber noch Eingewöhnungszeit. „Savannah fügte sich auf Anhieb gut in das Team ein. Es gab aber keinen Grund, sie vorzeitig einzuwechseln. Sie wird uns noch oft genug helfen.“ Beispielsweise in den Partien am kommenden Wochenende bei ATSC Wildcats Klagenfurt (Sa., 18.30 Uhr) und daheim gegen UVC Holding Graz (So., 17 Uhr, TEKAEF Arena im Georg von Peuerbach Gymnasium). www.volleyball-linz.at
